5 day dairy free diet plan

All articles

Going dairy-free is good for your overall health and your waistline. A dairy-free diet might seem tricky with so many day-to-day foods having dairy in them, from your morning cereal and coffee to that lunchtime cheese sandwich. But it really isn’t that difficult.

Follow our 5-day dairy-free diet plan and see for yourself!

Breakfast

Dairy-free latte

Day 1. Cutting out dairy milk doesn’t mean cutting out your cornflakes. Dairy-free alternatives like our Unsweetened Almond Breeze® is a great shout on cereal. Not only does it have a nice nutty flavour, it also contains half the calories of skimmed milk and unsweetened soya milk (based on 13 calories per 100ml serving).

Day 2. Want a really healthy breakfast? Then throw a veggie combination into your blender with a splash of Almond Breeze®. Quick and simple! This Kickstart Smoothie should get you into the swing of it.

Day 3. For this fab breakfast all you need is time and a waffle griddle… our Fruity Breakfast Waffles are delicious and when topped with even more fruit you’ll be right on track for your five a day.

Day 4. Seeds are full of vitamins and healthy nutrients and can be a sensational start to your day, especially when sprinkled all over our delicious, dairy-free Seeded Breakfast Muffins. Try making them over the weekend and then enjoy them for the rest of the week.

Day 5. Need a wakeup call in the morning? Try a delicious Almond Breeze® Latte, offering the same kick as a regular latte but with way less calories.

Lunch

Day 1. Soup is a great lunchtime option. It can help ensure no blood sugar crashes later in the day and there are so many tasty things you can add to it. You can’t go wrong with our Almond Breeze®-inspired Leek and Potato Soup, a smooth, creamy vegetable soup that’s full of flavour.

Day 2. Salads should be both healthy and loaded with flavour, here’s one we made earlier… Honey Roasted Avocado Salad with shredded iceberg lettuce, baby spinach, mandarin oranges and a sprinkle of our Honey Roasted Flavoured Snack Almonds.

Day 3. Whether you make this recipe the night before or on the day, our Vegan Carbonara is a wonderful lunchtime treat. Full of flavoursome garlic mushrooms and fresh pea shoots in a smooth, velvety sauce – all created without the use of eggs or dairy!

Day 4. Celebrate your dairy-free lunch with this British classic… the scotch egg, or more precisely, our own take on it, the Smokehouse Almond Scotch Egg! Made with pork sausages, smoked streaky bacon, cumin and our Smokehouse Flavoured Snack Almonds.

Day 5. This lunch recipe was made to be eaten outside on a sunny day – try our Chicken Satay Skewers marinated with spices and citric juices, and a smoky flavour
finish.

Dinner

Day 1. Swap the Friday takeaway curry for one of our lighter and more nutritious options, from our Roast Squash and Lentil Curry to our Thai green curry. Delicious!

Day 2. Go Greek with our gorgeous Moussaka recipe. It works deliciously with fries or salad, our Summer Rainbow Salad is ideal. With sweet potatoes, cucumber, tomatoes and a sprinkle of our Honey Roasted Snack Almonds.

Day 3. Who doesn’t love a good heart-warming meal… our Toad in the Hole recipe is delicious and proves you can still enjoy the classics even when you cut out dairy. There’s our lovely Shepherd’s Pie recipe too (just remember to take out the butter to keep it dairy free).

Day 4. Who has ever said Risotto is difficult to make? We can prove it isn’t thanks to our easy dairy-free recipe made with flaked cod, spring vegetables and Unsweetened Almond Breeze®.

Day 5. Madeleine Shaw’s Beetroot Crepes are a light savoury treat loaded with earthy sweetness. A wonderful twist on a classic recipe.
